Island Revolution: Jamaican Rhythm from Ska to Reggae
Curated by Selene Wendt in collaboration with the Experience Music Project, Seattle, WA.
Island Revolution – Jamaican Rhythm from Ska to Reggae, 1956 – 1981 represents a unique opportunity to experience the development of Jamaican music including dub and DJ music. Henie Onstad Art Centre was the only museum given the opportunity to present this interactive exhibition after it was produced and shown at Experience Music Project in Seattle. As the most comprehensive exhibition ever about the history of Jamaican music, it also provides a solid basis for a better understanding of the history of Jamaican music.
